Chase Center, the new home of the Golden State Warriors, has been certified as a sensory inclusive venue. The organization worked with leading sensory inclusion training non-profit, KultureCity, to become Certified Sensory Inclusive.
The certification process included Chase Center staff being trained by leading medical professionals on how to recognize guests with sensory needs and how to create the best experience to handle a sensory overload situation. To help with a guest experiencing a sensory overload situation, Chase Center will provide sensory bags equipped with noise canceling headphones, fidget tools, verbal cue cards and weighted lap pads. In addition, there will be a Wellness and Sensory Room designed by medical professionals for guests who may need a quieter and more secure environment. This room will be located on the Main Concourse outside Portal 12.
Prior to attending a Chase Center event, guests can download the free KultureCity App where one can view what sensory features are available and where they can access them.
KultureCity is a leading non-profit recognized nationwide for using their resources to revolutionize and effect change in the community for those with sensory needs; not just those with Autism. Since the program’s inception, KultureCity has created over 350 sensory inclusive venues in four countries. KultureCity has won many awards for its efforts including being named one of the World’s Most Innovative Companies for 2019 by FastCompany, a 2018 Clio Sports Silver for social good and the NASCAR Betty Jane France Humanitarian Award in 2017.
