Milwaukee Bucks Tweak Entertainment Complex Plans

Milwaukee Bucks entertainment complex rendering

Modifying a previous concept, the Milwaukee Bucks are reducing the number of levels in a building in their forthcoming entertainment complex

As part of their ongoing downtown arena project, the Bucks are planning a nearby entertainment complex that should serve as a key amenity. In the original plans, one of the buildings within the complex was to include four levels available for lease, with renderings depicting craft beer kennels inside. However, in their latest change to the plans, the Bucks are now calling for the building to have two levels open for lease, and the new design concepts do not include the craft beer kennels.

The Bucks continue to pursue tenants for the complex, but have not set a schedule for when they will be announced. More from The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel:

The changes were made after the Bucks received input from local real estate developer Blair Williams, who advised that it would be difficult to find commercial tenants for the third and fourth levels included in the original plans.

The Bucks have not set a time frame for an announcement of tenants, spokesman Barry Baum said.

The new plans also call for a the structure to be slightly smaller at the ground level.

“The proposed modifications result not only in a stronger building design, but also improve the experience of pedestrian circulation around the building and in the adjacent public plaza and sidewalks,” the Bucks say in a report to the city detailing the changes.

Currently, site preparation for the complex is taking place, with construction of the buildings set to begin down the road. The entertainment complex is scheduled to be completed in the spring of 2019, after the Bucks’ new arena debuts for the 2018-19 NBA season.
