The Wenatchee Fire professional soccer team pulled the remainder of its games from the new city arena, citing financial mismanagement by arena operator Global Entertainment.
"We are not willing to continue to operate our team under the current circumstances," said GM Mike Osborn in a written statement. "It has become very clear to our organization that accurate documentation and the necessary communication regarding weekly revenue/expense statements and sponsor-related advertising at the arena is lacking."
The team had played three of its first 14 scheduled games at the arena. It will move the remainder of the season to its former home, Wenatchee Valley Sportsplex facility.
However, it’s not all bad news for Global. The firm is expected to announce the addition of an American Indoor Football Association team for the 2010 season.
