We will have a new name for the renovated home of the Phoenix Suns (NBA) and Phoenix Mercury (WNBA) after the upcoming season, as the local casino resort passed on a renewal of naming rights for Talking Stick Resort Arena.
The first wave of renovations to the arena will come online in December, when the 2020-2021 NBA season launches. (You can read our preview of the 2020-2021 arena renovations here.) But the resort announced last week that it will not renew the five-year naming-rights deal that expires at the end of the 2020-2021 season. The arena had previously been called US Airways Center and became Talking Stick Resort Arena at the start of the 2015-16 season.
