New for 2020: Cable Dahmer Arena

Kansas City Mavericks

The home of hockey’s Kansas City Mavericks (ECHL) will be renamed Cable Dahmer Arena, the result of new naming-rights agreement for the Independence, MO venue.

Located in the Kansas City suburb of Independence, the venue has been known as Silverstein Eye Centers Arena since 2015. It has now has a new naming-rights partner in the Cable Dahmer Automotive Group, which will have its branding placed on the venue as part of a new multiyear agreement announced by the City of Independence on Monday.

New Cable Dahmer Arena signage is expected to be installed at the facility in time for a concert that is scheduled for April 1. More from Fox4KC.com:

The deal, which has been approved by the arena’s management corporation, includes new signage and brand recognition in all advertising for the facility.

The new signs are expected to be in place in time for the Sturgill Simpson concert on April 1.

The new name comes after $3 million in recent renovations, including LED lighting, LED video board displays, WiFi and concession upgrades.

The arena originally opened in 2009 as the Independence Events Center.
