Details on TD Garden Upgrades Unveiled

TD Garden new seats

Details have been unveiled on over $100 million in TD Garden upgrades, including new seats and other improvements at the Boston Bruins and Boston Celtics home.

TD Garden owner and operator Delaware North announced plans last year for a 50,000 square foot, more than $100 million expansion of the arena. Several improvements have been completed since that announcement, including the installation of new black seating and video technology upgrades. Additional upgrades will be completed over the coming months, as TD Garden debuts new premium seating options, gathering spaces, expanded concourses, and other improvements.

“Through tremendous teamwork and round the clock efforts, our project teams are in the final stages of TD Garden’s ‘Legendary Transformation’, successfully bringing a whole new level of fan experience to life this season,” said Amy Latimer, president of TD Garden. “We are so excited for the Bruins and Celtics seasons to kick off, and for our guests to enjoy all-new seats, game presentation enhancements, expanded concourses, thoughtfully designed gathering areas and clubs, delicious food and beverage options, and a new level of Rafters seating for fans.”

  • NORTH STATION GARAGE EXPANSION: The North Station Garage, located beneath TD Garden with entrances on 121 Nashua Street and 140 Causeway Street, has expanded by nearly 500 additional parking spots.  Two new elevators have been added to the expanded parking garage levels (P1-P4) and provide convenient access to The Hub on Causeway, North Station concourse, and TD Garden entrance.

  • TD GARDEN ENTRANCE:  TD Garden now has an official front door with a fitting grand entrance directly from Causeway Street through The Hub on Causeway. The atrium entry, featuring a glass canopy above, provides two new escalators, elevators, and stairs for guests to access TD Garden’s event entrance on Level 2.  The North Station Commuter Rail and MBTA underground pedestrian tunnel is also located through this entrance, providing more than 50,000 commuters who travel through North Station every day the option to directly connect from station to station protected from the elements.

  • SEATING UPGRADE: All seating in the arena bowl, originally installed in 1995, has been replaced and upgraded with modern, ergonomic seating in an all-black color scheme.  This season, TD Garden has also enhanced accessible seating throughout the arena with improved sightlines and added new wheelchair and companion seating courtside and on the glass.  A limited number of sets of black and gold seats have been preserved for charitable fundraising campaigns that will be run by Boston Bruins Foundation, Garden Neighborhood Charities, and the Celtics Shamrock Foundation. Proceeds from funds raised will support the mission of each organization and allow them to continue making a positive impact in the Greater Boston Area. More details to come.

  • BOSTON GARDEN SOCIETY: TD Garden’s expansion has provided the opportunity to rebrand and redefine its premium club. Debuting last season, ‘Boston Garden Society’ – Boston’s newest, oldest sports and social club – features new, updated spaces and amenities that will be rolling out this season.  Boston Garden Society is a membership-based model designed to offer flexible and customizable entertainment and hospitality options.
  • SOCIETY STREET-TO-SEAT EXPERIENCE: Boston Garden Society members have exclusive access to the first integrated smart technology elevator system in an arena setting.   Six ‘Destination Dispatch’ elevators allow members to scan their ticket at private entrances located at the garage parking levels (P1-P4) and main Boston Garden Society entrance, through The Hub on Causeway. This new street-to-seat technology lets members bypass the main turnstile entrance and provides the most seamless entry and exit experience in the arena.

  • CROSS INSURANCE BOARDROOM EXPANSION: Significant updates have been made to one of the popular Boston Garden Society products, Cross Insurance Boardroom. Due to demand, this space has been expanded to offer additional space for clients to enjoy the impeccably designed dual floor space, offering two full-service bars and all-inclusive food options. Cross Insurance Boardroom offers flexibility for members to create a customized game schedule and provides priority access to all event tickets year-round.
