Sears Centre Arena Naming Rights Extended

Sears Centre Arena

Sears Centre Arena will retain its current name into at least 2022, as Hoffman Estates, IL officials approved a three-year renewal this week.

Sears Centre Arena naming rights part are part of an agreement between Hoffman Estates and the Hoffman Estates-based Sears Holdings Corp. Sears had been committed to a naming-rights agreement that was to run through next August, but Hoffman Estates village board members approved a three-year renewal on Monday.

As part of the renewal, Sears Centre Arena will keep its current name through at least August 31, 2022, while Sears will obtain a broader promotional presence within the facility. More from Daily Herald:

Hoffman Estates village board members Monday unanimously approved a new three-year, $1.8 million naming-rights agreement with Sears Holdings Corp. to retain the original name of the 12-year-old Sears Centre Arena through at least Aug. 31, 2022.

Though the annual payments of $600,000 are the same as the previous three-year agreement, Sears will have a greater promotional presence inside the 11,000-seat arena through the development of an SYW (Shop Your Way) Lounge under the new agreement.

Sears Centre Arena is currently the home of the NBA Gatorade League’s (G League) Windy City Bulls, as well as indoor soccer’s Chicago Mustangs. It is also used for a variety of concerts, festivals, and other events.
