Vivint Smart Home Arena

We end 2017 with a countdown of the 10 biggest stories of the year on Arena Digest, as chosen by editors and partially based on page views. Today, #3: The Utah Jazz complete a major renovation at Vivint Smart Home Arena.

In a busy year for NBA arena renovation projects, the $125-million overhaul that the Utah Jazz completed at Vivint Smart Home Arena stood out for its broad scope and attention to the fan and player experiences.

Within Vivint Smart Home Arena, the Jazz took several approaches to refining the fan experience. The exterior has been overhauled through an improved main entrance, while the team also placed a major emphasis on improving the concession stands and food and beverage offerings at the facility. In addition, the Jazz also installed new blue cushioned seats throughout the venue.

Beyond those improvements, the Jazz followed some trends by upgrading their premium and social spaces. Another point of emphasis was technology, as Vivint Smart Home Arena was equipped with a new Wifi network, enhanced security features, and digital signage. In the course of renovating Vivint Smart Home Arena, the Jazz also ensured that player facilities were improved through an overhaul of the home team locker room that included various technology upgrades.

As noted, the NBA’s 2017 season has been shaped in part by the multitude of renovation projects that have unfolded. The Minnesota Timberwolves completed some much-needed upgrades to the Target Center, while the Atlanta Hawks began a multi-phase overhaul to Philips Arena that should result in significant changes to the fan experience.

The renovation project that the Jazz completed, however, made a own of its mark during a busy year for renovations. By implementing a wide array of renovations that reshaped both the fan and player experiences the Jazz have set the course for Vivint Smart Home Arena’s future and helped to ensure that it remains a viable home in an increasingly competitive landscape when it comes to both arena renovations and the opening of new NBA facilities.
