The Phoenix Suns have released a Talking Stick Resort Arena renovation flythrough video, showing how the venue is slated to look in its upgraded form.
The Talking Stick Resort Arena renovation flythrough video depicts several updated spaces within the arena, including the redesigned Casino Arizona Pavilion, expanded main concourse and North Lounge along with premium spaces that will feature a new suite-level configuration, Courtside Clubs, three new Floor Suites situated adjacent to the main court and one exclusive, two-story club named 1968 in honor of the year that Suns began play.
With the video, the Suns continue to promote the upcoming $230-million renovation to Talking Stick Resort Arena. The team has previously released renderings and other details on the project, which is expected to take place over multiple phases of construction and conclude in time for the 2021-22 NBA season.
Early last year, the Phoenix City Council approved a $150 million contribution from the city’s Sports Facilities Fund toward the $230 million project, with the Suns to contribute $80 million and extend their lease until at least 2037. As part of the renovation deal, the Suns agreed to privately finance a new training facility within the City of Phoenix to replace existing practice space at Talking Stick Resort Arena. A groundbreaking ceremony for the new facility, to be located on 44th Street, just north of Camelback Road, was held in November with the expectation that it will open late summer 2020.
Design of the renovation is led by architecture firm HOK, with Okland Construction to oversee all construction. Talking Stick Resort Arena first opened in 1992, and is currently the fourth-oldest venue in the NBA.
