Davidson Unveils Belk Arena Upgrades

Davidson Wildcats

Just ahead of the 2018-19 basketball season, Davidson College is unveiling a number of Belk Arena upgrades–including revamped technology and new food and beverages offerings.

Belk Arena will feature several new amenities this fall. A new lighting LED system is among the technology improvements, along with new Wi-FI access throughout the venue. Additionally, the improvements include beers on tap at The Brickhouse Above the Rim in the Nisbet Lobby and several food menu changes. Meanwhile, an open-air, standing concourse with large TVs will give fans a new viewing option and Davidson has revamped its ticket offerings to span a range from new concourse standing room to courtside seating.

“Our fans have options for how they spend game night, and we are providing the most exciting and comfortable choice,” said Director of Athletics Chris Clunie. “They love the action of the game, and, now, they can enjoy it with the technological benefits of new lighting and Wi-Fi, plus the quality of Brickhouse beers on tap in Belk Arena.”

This season’s upgrades include a range of seating options.

“You can get a courtside seat putting you closer to the fast-paced action,” Clunie said. “Or you can stand up on the concourse while you enjoy a beer in a fun, tailgate-type atmosphere.”

The Brickhouse Above the Rim will serve as the center point of a revamped food concourse that includes: Domino’s Pizza, Tenders and Ben & Jerry’s.

The improvements follow other recent changes at Belk Arena, including video boards and replacing upper level bleachers with premium theater style seating.

The venue will host regular-season home openers for Davidson’s men’s and women’s program next week, starting with the men’s home opener on November 6 followed by the women’s on November 7. Belk Arena, formally known as John M. Belk Arena, originally opened in 1989.
