The Vivint Smart Home Arena renovation is approaching its conclusion, as officials are planning to reopen the venue later this month.

Throughout the NBA offseason, the Utah Jazz have been working to complete a $125 million overhaul at their home venue. Once it has concluded, Vivint Smart Home Arena will be equipped with an expanded Jazz locker room, new blue cushioned seats, along with Wi-Fi, a relocated club level, and improved concessions and social spaces.

A Faith Hill and Tim McGraw concert has been scheduled at the arena for September 27, but the Jazz plan to host a private event for employees at the facility on September 21. Construction crews are working to ensure that the renovation is completed on schedule, and the Jazz are expressing their pleasure with how the project has taken shape. More from The Salt Lake Tribune:

“We need people using the building,” [Jazz president Steve] Starks said. “We need to know if there’s anything left to do.”

Starks describes the current situation as being “on the 3-yard line after we‘ve driven 97 yards.” Landscaping has commenced on the edges of the arena, finishing touches to the carpet are being put in on the sixth floor, and an arena that opened in 1991 will look brand new.

“We love how it’s turning out,” Starks said. “We believe it will be first class within the NBA. We believe our fans will be proud and be able to call it home.”

The Jazz will begin playing preseason games in early October, with their home opener scheduled for October 18.

Overall, it has been a busy offseason when it comes to NBA arena renovations. The Minnesota Timberwolves undertook another round of upgrades to the Target Center, while the Atlanta Hawks began the first phase in a multi-phase renovation to Philips Arena. Additionally, the Cleveland Cavaliers have begun some work on their planned improvements to Quicken Loans Arena.
