MSG closed after potentially hazardous material falls to floor

New York KnicksTonight’s New York Knicks (NBA) game was postponed because asbestos fell from the ceiling during the overnight switchover from hockey to basketball after last night’s New Yor Rangers (NHL) game.

“We will be working with the city and independent experts, ATC Associates and GCI Environmental Advisory to evaluate and determine the most appropriate course of action,” according to a statement issued by the Knicks. “As the safety of our customers and employees are our top priority, we will not reopen the Garden until we are absolutely assured the arena is safe.”

Of course, renovations to the facility have shook things up; goodness knows what else will fall from the rafters.

No word on when the game against the Orlando Magic will be rescheduled.
