As part of planning the future of its athletic facilities, the University of Houston is looking at two scenarios for the renovation of Hofheinz Pavilion .

The two scenarios involve a modernization of the 8,500-seat arena, which opened in 1969. Basically, both scenarios involve an expansion of the facility with new concessions and restrooms. The bowl would be expanded with new luxury and floor-level suites, a new loge area, and expanded seating. A second scenario adds new training rooms and a training complex to the mix.

There is also one scenario that would involve the elimination of Hofheinz Pavilion: replacing it and Robertson Stadium with a joint basketball-football facility.
