Bradley Center is one of the oldest arenas in the NBA, believe it or not — we remember when the team played at the MECCA not that long ago, it seems — and it's no secret that city leaders as well as Kohl would like to see a replacement. Ironically, it was Kohl's financial contributions that made the Kohl Center at the University of Wisconsin possible, which leads many in Milwaukee to ask why the multimillionaire doesn't jump-start discussions of a new Bucks arena with a similar financial contribution.
His answer, quite honestly, isn't very persuasive.
"I really don't think about it in that way," he told the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel . "Maybe they think about the Kohl Center in Madison. I made a major contribution. It seems to me that this should be a community decision, and it should be dealt with in that way. It shouldn't be a single individual who is expected or hoped, whether it's me or somebody else, to provide the funding for it."
Which means we don't see a Bradley Center replacement in the near future.
