We'll know by the end of the year.The third time can be the charm, as we're seeing from the third attempt at a workable design of Barclays Center, the centerpiece of developer Bruce Ratner's 22-acre Atlantic Yards project, unveiled last week.
The original design of the arena and the surrounding office/retail/residential complex was done by the legendary Frank Gehry; after that design proved to be too spendy, Ellerbe Becket came in with a more traditional arena design. That traditional design didn't sit too well with city officials and architectural critics.
