Heat rev up AAA for 2009 season

The ten-year-old American Airlines Arena is the recipient of a facelift, thanks to new electronics and the installation of more than 500 high-def TV sets.

The new experience for Miami Heat (NBA) fans will begin as they enter the arena, thanks to a new 3,400-square-foot MediaMesh graphics system; that will be augmented by eight 52-inch monitors in the mail lobby. Within the arena there are four new sports-bar-like areas featuring a multitude of displays, slated to show a variety of sporting events.

All in all, more than 500 high-def TV sets were installed in the arena, thanks to a deal between AAA and Sony, the prime contractor on the project.
