It’s no secret the university has been looking at a replacement for Rupp Arena, which is 42 years old. The university and the Lexington Center Corp., which manages the convention center and Rupp Arena, have already discussed a new downtown city-owned arena as part of the existing convention-center complex. Wildcat basketball is a sure draw, even in a 24,000-seat arena.
