Naming rights to the North Little Rock arena will change sometime in July when the corporate takeover is completed.Alltel Arena in North Little Rock will be getting a new name and new colors after the takeover of Alltel by Verizon takes place. The Alltel name will disappear, with Verizon Arena the new name.
A move like this is not cheap, and Verizon is bearing the costs of the transition. Besides all the signage requiring an upgrade, all the Alltel colors — even on the basketball floor and the outdoor lights — will be changed. The address of the arena will need to be changed by North Little Rock as well.
