Philly-based Global Spectrum replaces Global Entertainment as the management of the Albuquerque-area arena.Global Spectrum replaces Global Entertainment as the management of the Albuquerque-area arena, as the city of Rio Rancho goes into a completely new direction for arena ops.
The arena was built under the direction of Global Entertainment, using several affiliated companies to provide additional services. That wasn’t working out; according to city officials, Global Entertainment failed to live up to the terms of its management deal and provide enough revenue to cover operating expenses, forcing the city to dip into its general fund to pay bills.
Global Spectrum will manage the day-to-day operations of the arena, whose flagship tenant is the New Mexico Scorpions, a CHL team not owned by Global. Two other Global Spectrum affiliates will be providing additional services: Front Row Marketing Services will market naming rights, while New Era Tickets is the arena’s official ticket provider.
