Tullio Arena renovations scaled back; now budgeted at $42 million

The Erie County Convention Center Authority is scaling back plans to renovate Tullio Arena, but the new budget of $42 million is still enough for major changes.

Gone is a glass walkway between the arena and Jerry Uht Stadium, the home of the minor-league Erie SeaWolves. The goal of the glass walkway was to connect the two venues in hopes of attracting events utilizing both facilities. But that plan is now on hold.

Instead, the bulk of the money will be spent moderning the facility, which hosts a D-League team and other events.
