History
Originally built for the North Carolina State University Men’s Basketball team, the RBC Center experienced many modifications and price increases to accommodate hockey games when the Hartford Whalers moved down south and became the Carolina Hurricanes.
The Royal Bank of Canada recently bought Centura Bank, located in the southeastern United States, and have partnered with the arena to call it the RBC Center.
