History
Located in downtown Nashville, bars and restaurants surround the Sommet Center, and the arena is easy walking distance to many hotels as well. It is hard to miss with the 200-foot tower adjoining the arena, plus the glass wall revealing the pathways throughout the Sommet Center.
Completed in 1996, the formerly known Nashville Arena and Gaylord Entertainment Center is considered a modern landmark in downtown and blends in very nicely with the Nashville skyline. Predominately a home to the Nashville Predators, the Sommet Entertainment Center also has housed many concerts, U.S. Gymnastics championships, United States Figure Skating championships, early rounds of the NCAA Basketball Tournament, and other exciting events.
