Raj Saha to Serve as GM of New Bucks Arena

The Milwaukee Bucks have confirmed that Raj Saha will serve as the general manager of the team’s forthcoming arena

Last week, it was revealed that Saha would be joining the Bucks in an advisory role, allowing him to oversee several aspects related to the arena’s development. It was anticipated at the time, however, that Saha would continue working with the team by becoming the arena’s GM once it opened.

Saha joins the Bucks with a fairly distinguished track record. He was involved in the development of the 2012 Olympic games in London, and has previously served in roles for both AEG and Madison Square Garden. It is that experience that makes the Bucks believe that Saha will fit in in Milwaukee, according to team president Peter Feigin. More from the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel:

Saha accepted the role as GM of the new Bucks arena this month, Feigin told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel on Thursday.

“Raj has literally opened up some of the greater venues in the world in an efficient, systematic way,” Feigin said. “We wanted to get somebody of that caliber in as early as we could.”

The arena is part of a broader plan that includes a new practice center, as well as mixed-use development in the surrounding area. The downtown Milwaukee venue is expected to open for the 2018-19 NBA season.
