New for 2020: Idaho Central Arena

Idaho SteelheadsWe have a new name for the home of the Idaho Steelheads (ECHL): Idaho Central Arena, as Idaho Central Credit Union assumes naming rights from CenturyLink for the Boise facility.

Idaho Central Arena, of course, is not to be confused with Idaho Central Credit Union Arena at the University of Idaho. Same benefactor, different arenas.

“We are excited for our new partnership with Idaho Central Credit Union and look forward to our relationship as they are a great community supporter,” said Eric Trapp, President, Idaho Steelheads and General Manager, Idaho Central Arena, said via press statement. “This partnership shows that the Idaho Steelheads and Idaho Central Credit Union are committed to the Treasure Valley and downtown Boise for many years to come.”

The 5,000-capacity arena opened in 1997, and the naming-rights deal will also call for some phased physical improvements to the arena, according to Trapp: “We have some exciting improvements to Idaho Central Arena to come, and look forward to unveiling them in the coming months.”
