ASM Global Executive Leadership Team Unveiled

Venue management and services firm ASM Global has announced its executive leadership team, which will report to President and CEO Bob Newman

“Since closing the merger two weeks ago, our top priority has been to ensure that we have the right leadership in place to advance our priorities and growth strategies focused on creating the best experience for our clients, guests and staff across all venues,” said Newman. “We are honored that the executives we are announcing today represent the very top industry professionals who will collectively lead our new company and global teams as we reinforce and expand our venue management services and capabilities.

“We are confident that this impressive team will accelerate our momentum as we look to invest in innovations that bring new ASM Global services, solutions and technologies to our clients,” Newman added. “The team’s depth of leadership will also enable us to advance our mission to realize the potential of the world’s greatest places, spaces and events by driving revenue generation and operational excellence that will allow us to take our industry to the next level.” 

Effective immediately, ASM’s executive leadership team includes: 

Mark Rozells, Chief Financial Officer – Rozells will join ASM and lead the company’s global finance organization including its financial planning and analysis, accounting and reporting, tax and internal audit, as well as its legal and IT departments. In addition, he will lead ASM’s corporate development and strategy including M&A activities and new revenue generation. 

Rozells brings strong financial and operational management experience to the position. Prior to this, he spent his career focused on the hospitality and entertainment industries and served as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for Fairmont Raffles Hotels International, and in senior finance and strategy roles at Liberty Media, Starwood Hotels and The Walt Disney Company. 

Chuck Steedman, Executive Vice President Strategy and Business Development, Arenas and Stadiums – Steedman, who previously served as the Chief Operating and Development Officer for AEG Facilities, will be responsible for identifying, evaluating and implementing global account acquisition growth strategies for ASM’s arena and stadium accounts. 

Additionally, he will utilize his diverse senior executive level industry experience and relationships to identify and execute strategic opportunities and partnerships that will expand ASM’s vertical and horizontal lines of business building on the worldwide network currently in place. 

Gregg Caren, Executive Vice President Sales and Business Development, Convention Centers – Industry veteran and former EVP Convention Centers for SMG, Caren will be responsible for leading the company’s strategic efforts around acquiring new convention and exhibition center accounts, as well as developing global sales initiatives that drive events to the company’s existing portfolio. 

In this capacity, Caren will identify new domestic and international market opportunities, execute expansion strategies to better service clients and foster innovative partnerships that will result new differentiated opportunities for ASM’s convention center business division. 

Doug Thornton, Executive Vice President Arena, Stadia and Theaters – Expanding his role to include ASM’s entire portfolio of arenas, stadia and theaters, Thornton will direct the operations and financial performance of this division. 

In this role, Thornton will support the identification of new service delivery models that are unique to each venue type and specific to each geographic region. In addition, he will oversee ASM’s event content and innovation team’s effort in driving events to the venue portfolio. 

Richard Krezwick, Chief Commercial Officer – Industry veteran and former Senior Vice President for AEG Facilities, Krezwick will oversee the company’s commercialization strategy and the cross-functional adoption of new services, products and technologies. 

In addition to aligning the organization and driving the implementation of new services designed to propel the company’s growth, Krezwick will oversee global sales and revenue generation activities that leverage the company’s differentiated and industry-leading capabilities to better service its existing arena and stadium clients. 

Shauna Elvin, Executive Vice President, Global Talent – Elvin, previously Senior Vice President of Human Resources for SMG, has been promoted to Executive Vice President of Global Talent, leading ASM’s talent services to consistently produce results that positively impact the company and its employees. 

In this position, Elvin’s responsibilities include human resources; workforce planning, staffing and retention; organizational development; compensation and benefits; training; diversity and inclusion strategies; and employee engagement activities. 

Bob McClintock, Executive Vice President, Convention Centers – McClintock, former Senior Vice President, Convention Centers for SMG, has been promoted to Executive Vice President, Convention Centers for ASM. 

In this role, he will lead and direct the global operations and financial performance of the company’s convention center and exhibition division. Additionally, he will work closely with the company’s portfolio of convention and exhibition centers to implement innovative ways to better serve the company’s clients. 

John Sharkey, Executive Vice President European Operations – An industry veteran, Sharkey, will continue in the same role, with focus on maximizing the positive results across all ASM European venue and food and beverage operations. 

Additionally, he will develop strategies to support and implement ASM’s business development activities in Europe. He will continue to lead all aspects of the company’s planning, customer service and growth expansion initiatives across the region. 

Harvey Lister, Chairman and CEO, ASM Asia Pacific – Former Chairman and CEO of AEG Ogden, Lister will continue to oversee ASM’s growing portfolio of business activities in Australia, New Zealand, Asia Pacific and the Middle East regions. 

In this capacity, and utilizing his unmatched industry experience, he will be responsible for growing the ASM brand and scaling the company’s regional operations across multiple venue, service and technology initiatives. 

Shaun Beard, Senior Vice President Food and Beverage – Continuing his oversight of ASM’s North America and European based food and beverage operations including Savor, Premier and CGC Event Caterers, Sean will further the brand’s leading innovations and focus on delivery of locally tailored food and beverage experiences. 

Beard will also lead further expansion on this global division through expansion of current offerings and identification of strategic partnerships and acquisitions.
