We have a new USHL logo to present, as the American junior-hockey circuit updates its logo with a modern design that also harkens back to the league’s 1979 origins.
Though the roots of USHL teams can be traced back to 1947, the USHL became an all-junior league in 1979 with seven teams: Austin Mavericks, Bloomington Jr. Stars, Green Bay Bobcats, Hennepin Nordiques, Sioux City Musketeers, St. Paul Vulcans and Waterloo Black Hawks. Waterloo and Sioux City are still in the league.
The logo reflects that heritage in one distinct way: there are seven red-and-white stripes on the bottom of the new logo.
