UCLA searching for “home” venues in ’11-’12

UCLAWith Pauley Pavilion slated to be remodeled during the 2011-2012 season, the UCLA Bruins men’s basketball team is looking for a home floor — or floors, more than likely — for the season.

It’s not as though there’s not an abundance of choices in the greater Los Angeles area, though the abundance of sports teams and events will probably make scheduling somewhat complicated. The school has an offer on the table to play all their games at the Sports Arena, which would represent a homecoming of sorts, as the Bruins called the facility home when it opened in 1959 and left in 1964 for Pauley Pavilion.

Still, it sounds like UCLA officials are willing to split the season in several different venues, including the Honda Center in Anaheim, Citizens Bank Arena in Ontario, RaboBank Arena in Bakersfield and Valley View Casino Center in San Diego. If this happens, the school will need to bus students to “home” games.
