An American Hockey League game between the Albany Devils and the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins was postponed Sunday after the ice at Atlantic City‘s Boardwalk Hall was deemed to be unplayable.
The ice cracked during warmups, and despite efforts to fix it, officials decided to call it a day and undertake more extensive measures this week.
Professional hockey is returning to Boardwalk Hall this season in the form of four Albany Devils games and a Trenton Devils (ECHL) game. The first Devils game, played last Sunday, drew a great crowd — 5,134 — and there were no issues with the ice.
