The Charlotte Checkers will have a new look in 2010-2011, adopting the colors of parent Carolina as the team moves up to the American Hockey League.
The Checkers open training camp today, with a first practice slated for this morning. The team will still play in Time Warner Arena, but with a totally different look. The team’s new logo and jersey plays off the colors of parent Carolina Hurricanes, with Hurricane logos on each sleeve. In addition, the Checkers are selling joint ticket packages with the ‘Canes.
The team’s first game in the AHL comes Oct. 15.
