The ten-year deal for the naming rights to the former Wachovia Arena will cost Mohegan Sun $2.4 million.
The details for Mohegan Sun at Pocono Down's purchase of naming rights to the former Wachovia Arena have been released. The casino/resort will pay $225,000 per year for the first five years of the deal and then $250,000 annually for the remaining five.
The arena will be known as Mohegan Sun Arena at Casey Plaza.
For the Luzerne County Convention Center Authority, it's a pretty good deal. Naming-rights deals are still hard to come by in this economy, and the pricing is a significant increase over what Wachovia paid: $125,000 annually since 2002.
