Wachovia Arena will be known as Mohegan Sun Arena come January.
Luzerne County Commissioners approved a naming-rights deal with the Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs arena for the Wilkes-Barre facility now known as Wachovia Arena. The new name: Mohegan Sun Arena, which goes into effect Jan. 20.
Terms of the deal were not released.
This is the fourth naming-rights deal in 10 years for the arena, home of the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins (AHL).
