Lincoln dusts off arena plan

City officials are reviving plans for a new downtown Lincoln arena, with the participation of the University of Nebraska.

It's back: City officials are reviving plans for a new downtown Lincoln arena, with the participation of the University of Nebraska.

The plan is for a $350-million, 16,000-seat seat arena and entertainment complex in downtown Lincoln, an area that could use a shot in the arm. The reason for reviving the project: the University of Nebraska needs to decide whether to pursue their own new arena for the men's and women's basketball teams or work with the city on this project.

Plans for the revived project should be issued in coming weeks.
