It's not completed, but the new downtown Louisville arena is making a splash in the events world by landing two high-profile religious conferences.

The arena and the nearby convention center will host the Church of the Nazarene youth conference in July 2011 and a United Pentecostal youth conference in August 2013. The events are expected to bring 12,000 and 20,000 attendees, respectively, to town. Government officials say the events will bring $10 million in spending to Louisville.

The new arena will open in fall 2010; the University of Louisville men's basketball team is the anchor tenant.
