Cohan puts Warriors on the market

Owner Chris Cohan has reportedly put the Golden State Warriors on the market.

Owner Chris Cohan has reportedly put the Golden State Warriors on the market, according to several reports in Bay Area publications.

Cohan's tenure as Warriors owner has been one long tale of futility: the team every so often will flirt with a winning record, then come up short. It's been hard for Cohan to either develop talent or bring in free agents, making the playoffs only once since 1994. It's a mess of a franchise, and one where a fresh face would be appreciated.

Like Larry Ellison, the founder of Oracle. He's known as a hardcore competitor and happens to be a Warriors fan to the point he bought naming rights to the arena. Reportedly he's interested in a purchase of the Warriors. It would be interesting to see Ellison in charge of the Warriors: he's be willing to spend a buck to make a buck and win, but he would be willing to push every line when it comes to the rules. Basically, he's a smarter and more ruthless Mark Cuban.
