The facility has faced financial issues for several years now, but they were exacerbated by a renovation to coincide with the arrival of the AHL in town. The loan is merely the tip of the iceberg: the arena’s manager says an annual city subsidy between a half million and one million dollars will be needed for at least the next three years.
