Montgomery County officials say budget concerns will force them to scrap public funding of a new arena slated for an AHL team.

The owners of the successful baseball Dayton Dragons had proposed a 6,900 seat hockey arena and events center at the I-75 interchange. 360 Architecture had come up with plans for a facility that could cost as much as $81.5 million, and the county was looking at funding it out of its general fund after an attempt to raise the lodging tax failed.
