Towson arena plan upsets neighbors

The site of a new $45-million arena at Towson University has neighbors worried about the impact on their neighborhood.
The new site of a $45-million arena-expansion at Towson University has neighbors worried about the impact on their neighborhood.

The current plan calls for the Towson Center expansion to be located south of the current arena; the addition would function as the main arena, while the existing arena would be converted to practice facilities. The previous plan had the arena on the other side, creating a buffer between neighbors and the facility, but the new plan puts the arena as close as 30 feet to existing houses.

Needless to say, the neighbors aren’t pleased with the plan, and they’re expected to let university officials know that in coming weeks.
