Owner Charles Wang has held all along the future of the franchise in Nassau was tied to his proposed Lighthouse Project (we covered it last November), which would include a basically rebuilt Nassau County Coliseum. But the project stalled with local officials sitting on the proposal, and since then the Isles front office has made hints about the team’s future not being in Long Island.
So enter Sprint Center, which lacks a headlining sports tenant but a management group (AEG) openly lusting after one. So if the Isles need a new home, Kansas City would surely be at the top of the list. And a September exhibition games will surely fuel the paranoia of Isles fans.
