Thunder, Intrust Arena still negotiating lease

The Wichita Thunder and the management of Intrust Bank Arena are close to finalizing a lease.
The Wichita Thunder (CHL) and the management of Intrust Bank Arena are close to finalizing a lease for the arena, slated to open in 2010.

To say the two sides are extremely educated on the business of minor-league hockey is an understatement: Arena manager Chris Presson is the former GM of the Thunder, and he openly embraces the move of the Thunder as a way to bring regular crowds to his new 15,000-seat facility.

The Thunder currently pay $6.500 per game at the Kansas Coliseum. The new lease would presumably include a cut of the concessions.
