Mayor Byron W. Brown says this is serious business: After the Aud was closed down in 1996, many items like seats, banners, locker-room stalls and turnstiles have made their way into the arms of collectors, who are now selling the stolen items on eBay.
It’s serious business for the city, which plans to fund a tribute to the Aud with the sale of 600 seats, accompanied by letters of authencity. Serious enough, anyway, for Brown to pledge action against those selling stolen items.
