A $300,000 renovation of Mariucci Arena, the home of the Minnesota Golden Gophers, debuts tonight when the University of British Columbia arrives.
The renovation, carried out last month, installed new netting from corner to corner behind the nets. In addition, new boards and new Plexiglas panels were installed; neither had been replaced since the arena opened in 1993. Players will appreciate the new boards, which have padding on the top.
