Kent finally gets it right with new naming-rights deal

Naming rights to the former Kent Events Center has been sold to VisionOne; the 10-year deal is worth $3.175 million. The facility is slated to open in January as the home of the Seattle Thunderbirds (WHL).
Naming rights to the former Kent Events Center has been sold to VisionOne; the 10-year deal is worth $3.175 million. The 6,025-seat facility is slated to open in January as the home of the Seattle Thunderbirds (WHL).

VisionOne is a Fresno-based ticketing service. As part of the deal VisionOne will providing ticketing services for arena event and Thunderbirds games.

The deal ends an ugly chapter in arena development: the original naming-rights deal had Amiga Inc. — yes, that Amiga , the personal computer remembered fondly by oldtimers — paying $20 million over 10 years. But the New York-based firm never actually made a payment on the deal, and it was later revoked.
