Spokane Arena has seen a significant change to its concession offerings, as the venue recently debuted the Market.
Home to hockey’s Spokane Chiefs (WHL) and used for a variety of other events, Spokane Arena has unveiled the results of an initiative to modify some of its concession offerings. Located on the northwest end of the venue’s concourse, the Market features four new food counters and offers a wide range of food and drink options. Among the selections available in the area include food items such as grilled sandwiches and artisan-style pizza, while both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks are part of the mix.
While the Market should change the food and beverage mix for a variety of Spokane Arena events, the renovation was made with the fan experience for Chiefs’ games in mind. More from Inlander:
The Market also includes a 16-tap beer, cider and wine bar, although each of the four counters also feature four beer taps, along with soda and other non-alcoholic beverages. The four new stands were developed by locally based culinary staff of Centerplate, the national catering and food services company that services both the Arena and the Spokane Convention Center.
At Griddled, Arena guests can choose from grilled sandwiches like the staff-favorite Cubano ($9.50), with pulled pork, ham, swiss cheese, honey dijon and dill pickles. There’s also the “fancy pants grilled cheese” ($8) with three types of cheese, and a dessert sandwich of maple cream cheese and candied bacon served between cinnamon swirl bread ($7).
“Our main customer base is [Spokane] Chiefs fans, and they are here a few days a week, so it’s nice for them to get something different,” explains Centerplate sous chef Jessica Reuthinger.
The Market is one of the latest additions to Spokane Arena’s food and beverage lineup, as the venue has also added a taco stand within the last several months.
