Tired of dealing with arena issues, the owner of the Johnstown Chiefs announces a move to Greenville, S.C.

Tired of arena issues, the owner of the Johnstown Chiefs (ECHL) is working on a move of the franchise to Greenville, S.C. The Greenville Arena District approved a lease at the , and tomorrow the ECHL Board of Governors is expected to approve the shift.

The writing was on the wall before the start of this season, when the Chiefs and Global Spectrum were engaged in a bid to manage War Memorial, only to find that Cambria County was more interested in working out a sole deal with Global Spectrum. After that, the Chiefs announced the signing of only a one-year lease.

The team will play at the BI-LO Center, the former home of the Greenville Grrrowl.
