Dubuque holds groundbreaking for new arena

The new arena on Chaplain Schmitt Island will house a USHL team beginning next season.

The city of Dubuque held a groundbreaking today for the $6.6-million Mystique Ice Center, to be built on the city's Chaplain Schmitt Island.

There are plans for a USHL team as the main tenant for the building. Dubuque formerly fielded a team in the USHL, but that was before that circuit rose to Tier I.
