It’s official: the Quad Cities Flames will relocate to a new arena in the Fraser Valley, giving the AHL a foothold in British Columbia.The AHL granted permission for the Quad Cities Flames to move to Abbotsford, British Columbia for the 2009-2010 season.
“We are excited to have the AHL coming to Abbotsford,” said Mayor George W. Peary. “The Calgary Flames AHL affiliate team will bring new brand of hockey to the knowledgeable fans in our city, in the Fraser Valley and across the Lower Mainland.”
