Lancers announce move back to Omaha

The USHL’s Omaha Lancers will abandon their Council Bluffs home and move to Omaha’s Civic Auditorium.
The USHL’s Omaha Lancers will abandon their Council Bluffs home and move to Omaha’s Civic Auditorium next season.

No surprise: the Lancers had issues with Council Bluffs and Mid-America Center, and when the two sides sat down to renegotiate the lease last month, they couldn’t come to an agreement on terms.

Omaha Civic Auditorium is the older of the two venues in downtown Omaha (Qwest Center is the newer one, formerly occupied by the AHL’s Ak-Sar-Ben Knights). The team will use only the lower bowl of the auditorium, which seats around 4,200.
