It may be late August but the junior hockey season has already started with training camp. Fargo may not know its entire roster yet but it revealed two important aspects of the franchise yesterday.
We may not who will take the first faceoff or make the first save yet for the Fargo Force. But the expansion United States Hockey League team did let fans in on some news yesterday.
The team unveiled its mascot and logo to the public for the first time. It happened before 4,529 spectators at the independent league Fargo Redhawks baseball game. The team’s mascot is unnamed at this point but he made his first public appearance anyway. Click here for a look.

The team hits hte ice today for its first session under coach Dean Blais. It’s a long camp. The club will play one preseason game — September 13 against Sioux Falls at the Moorhead Sports Center. The regular season opens on Oct. 3 at Omaha, the first of eight straight road games. The Force will opens its season at the new Urban Plains Center in Fargo on Thursday, October 30.
