Talk about going from old school to high tech: when the Windsor Spitfires (OHL) move into their new home, WCFU Centre, in mid-December, fans will be able to see game action from the concourses via 29 new LCD screens.

The agreement between the Spitfires and Wireless Ronin Technologies calls for the installation of 29 LCD screens, providing fans with game coverage, events information and, of course, advertisements.

If you’ve ever been to the team’s current home, Windsor Arena, you may appreciate what a leap this is. Windsor Arena opened in 1925 — long before anyone anticipated how pervasive marketing messages would be in a sporting venue.
