Hard to believe it’s been 15 years since the current version of the Houston Aeros — the AHL team — began play.

To celebrate, the team released their 15th anniversary logo and announced plans for a season-long celebration

The 15th Anniversary logo features the original Aeros bomber flying over the skyline of downtown Houston. Etched in the downtown skyline are the roman numerals XV symbolizing the 15-year run of hockey in Houston starting in 1994. All of this is encompassed by a circle with the text “Celebrating 15 Years; Houston Aeros Hockey.” In keeping consistent with the Aeros current logo and identity, the 15th Anniversary logo consists of the primary Aeros’ green color, along with white, red, grey and black.

"We are excited for our 15th season of hockey in Houston,” said Aeros President Tom Garrity. “The Aeros have established a winning tradition over the past 14 years and we look forward to giving back to the fans who have supported us so strongly with a great year of hockey both on and off the ice."

The team also unveiled their marketing campaign for the season titled "15 Seasons: One Reason." The campaign will be geared toward the fans as a thank you for 15 great years in Houston. The Aeros have won two championships since starting in 1994, the International Hockey League’s (IHL) Turner Cup in 1999, and the AHL’s Calder Cup in 2003. In 14 seasons of play, Houston has only missed the playoffs twice.

To commemorate this special season, Houston Aeros Charities will have a limited edition crystal puck available for purchase. This one-of-a-kind puck will feature the Aeros’ 15th Anniversary logo on it and will be available to purchase at all Aeros games. All proceeds will benefit Houston Aeros Charities.

The Aeros uniforms will remain the same as last season; however, the third jersey for Houston Aeros Charities will display a 15-year logo patch.
